This 19th century Antique Whale Oil Brass Lamp with screen and tools is one of the earliest forms of lighting. This four-post lamp contains all original tools which is a rarity: candle snuffer, tweezers, trimmer, oil pail and back reflector plate. Whale oil is oil obtained from the blubber of whales. Early industrial societies used whale oil in oil lamps for lighting and making soap. This lamp was acquired on a KS pick in 2018 and shows mild wear commensurate with age and use yet remains in excellent condition overall. It would make an exceptional addition to your collection, display or as a fantastic gift!!!
