Vintage Cedar Chest:
This beautiful Ed Roos Cedar Chest was originally picked as a completely broken down, ready for the trash relic in 2017 from Pueblo, CO. The Edwards Roos Company of Forest Park, IL operated from 1918-1951. Based on the serial number of 5000, this chest was made in the late 1920s to very early 1930s. At the time, it was the biggest manufacturing plant in Forest Park. All the wood and hardware (hinges, lock and hasp, copper strapping) are original. Numerous hours went into completely breaking the chest down as all the original glue had dried up and separated. Once reconstructed, the wood was lightly sanded and resealed with an antique poly finish to restore its original luster. A little turquoise paint and an antique white chalk painted scroll piece was added for accent to create a stunning piece of art with exquisite workmanship. It is ready to be displayed & used in a living room, bedroom, or to be utilized in a commercial spot to display merchandise. Its sleek design, color, and front emblem brings that country, traditional look to the present day.
