This circa 1800s rare piece was imported from France in 2014. It has 2 hand-hammered steel rings and rivets and would've been dipped in water to let the wood expand to the staves until it was tight. Someone over the years painted the steel rings green which adds a bit of color but doesn't reduce the authenticity of the piece. There is some normal wear from age and use. This piece could be used as a stand alone piece of decor or bring it to life with a bouquet of flowers or twigs, hold fruit, pinecones, or seed balls...ideas are limitless!
