Antique FORCE French Merchant Balance Scales -15 Kilo G
Antique FORCE French Merchant Balance Scales -15 Kilo G are in the original condition and are in great shape for their age (1900 circa) and likely used over the ages. The base is cast iron and has been left with their patina of age, the original paint was black and now carries a lovely Shabby Chic well used finish. The pans are both copper. Each of the pans have lettering pressed into them and have 2 purpose made holes. Market Balance Scales would have been used by various market vendors in French villages, selling nuts, flour, bread or cheese. Certainly not as accurate as a precision scale of today, but would make a pretty display piece for a period home, restaurant, or shop.
