But don’t miss, it is authentic and does retain its original function. In fact, it looks to have been rarely used. It comes equipped with a full leather shoulder strap/harness and buckle closure. The basket is made of a sturdy woven wicker. The basket is in very good vintage condition. There are no holes in the weave. The leather thong holds the lid firmly to the creel body on the front. The thong also allows the lid to swivel open and shut with little effort. Additionally, it possesses leather strapping on the backside of the lid for further security and stability. Brass rivets, latch and buckle reveal its high quality craftsmanship. It also possesses a distinct horseshoe decorative metal rivet in the latching flap. The leather and metal hardware are in good condition and have a fine patina. What a Prize!!
