Antique 1920s Black Satin Formal Slippers
Drift back in time as you ponder where these Antique 1920s Black Satin Formal Slippers were worn. The style carries over much from the Edwardian Era with its fashionable Louis Heel which increased stability. This is a lovely pair of dress shoes. They are in very good antique condition! The silk is all intact and not marred. The leather soles do shoe normal wear. The size of the shoes are very petite. There is a 13 on an inside tag of the shoe. We are not sure if this represents a size or not. There is no marked manufacture of the time. It is not suggested to wear these shoes but rather have them on display in a store, a vintage setting, or along with your other antique collectibles. These Antique 1920s Black Satin Formal Slippers were owned by a lady, called Aunt Carolyn, who resided all her life in the Baltimore, Maryland area as a librarian. She never married, nor had children. She passed in 2010 in her late eighties. These slippers were her mother’s wedding shoes. She had a box of treasured items that contained these shoes, her own first pair of baby shoes, two antique micro beaded purses, as well as her own first baby hair brush/comb set. We do have these items also listed on our site, if you're interested in viewing.
